Fans are praying for country music legend's son, who is recovering from crucial surgery.

Country music fans are praying for Ernest Ray Lynn, the late iconic singer Loretta Lynn's son, after the family said he had emergency surgery and is suffering from renal failure.

"Loretta's son Ernest Ray underwent critical surgery as a result of kidney failure," according to an Instagram post by the late singer.

"In times like this, we are reminded that all that truly matters is faith and family. We'd love to know you're praying for Ernie."

The Doobie Brothers, a legendary rock band, will perform in Massachusetts this year. Ernie Lynn, 69, has posted periodic health updates through his wife, Crystal, on Facebook.

The most recent report occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 25.

"So many of you have messaged or commented asking for an update regarding Ernie and his operation," Crystal wrote in an email.

"Thanks for that. The day did not go as planned, but we will not give up. We wholeheartedly believe and claim that this procedure will be successful, and that the Lord will provide for our needs.

We ask that you pray specifically for his new equipment to begin working for us tomorrow.
